After being quarantined since the end of March, my boyfriend, an up and coming local New Orleans rapper, Marley, decided to take a trip to the Big Apple. Our goal was to take care of some business for our brands that had been on hold since the start of the pandemic. We had been planing our extended weekend work-trip for 2 months, and 2 days before we took flight, an article was released titled, "Louisiana travelers to New York will be fined if they don't comply with corona-virus restrictions". $2,000 to be exact. Luckily I was able to make sure that the both of us were in compliance and following all restricted guidelines; prior to leaving.
We stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Manhattan, just blocks away from Time Square. This was convenient for us because we were near an array of restaurants that offered "take-out" and "delivery" services. As far as transportation, we traveled by foot, Uber and subway (when needed) while moving around the city running errands. Our hotel had a rooftop that had the most beautiful view of New York City, which we enjoyed at the start of the day and before we called it a night. The seating areas on the roof were spaced out enough for other hotel guests to congregate safely and respectfully without having to wear a mask, (even though moving about the hotel in public areas including elevators, stairwells, hallways etc.) did require a mask.
In conclusion, traveling is never as perfect as the picture but all aspects of adventure is needed for one to have a well rounded perception and the stories last a lifetime.
